Jaguar, Land rover belongs to India

Tata motors made a grand entry into the luxury cars market with a grand acquisition of Jaguar and Land rover for over 2.3 billion dollars all cash deal. Ratan N. Tata chairman of Tata Sons and Tata Motors promised to preserve the iconic identities of Jaguar and Land rover. Ford acquired Jaguar for 2.5 billion dollar in 1989 and Land rover for 2.75 billion dollar in 2000 has now sold both brands with manufacturing facilities for 2.3 billion dollars to Tata motors. With this grand acquisition Tata now the proud owners of Jaguar and Land rover both luxury cars with a iconic brand image and Nano world’s cheapest car. Tata motors earlier created a big buzz all over the world with its pet project world’s cheapest car Nano. Nano will be priced roughly around 2500 dollar and the design and the concept is well received across the world. Jaguar and Land rover now belongs to India thanks to the 16000 strong Ford workforce which chose Tata Motors as their preferred choice. Ford employees chose Tata motors because of their smooth, sustained and fair relationship with their work force. Tata Motors will continue to manufacture both Jaguar and Land rover from Britain and Ford will continue to supply the engine and components to Tata Motors. With the acquisition of Jaguar and Land rover Tata Motors now reached the elite club internationally important car makers. Tata motors will now be counted among the best in the world.
